THE BURLESQUE PERFORMERS
The Vagina Monologues is a groundbreaking play by V (formerly Eve Ensler) that uses interviews with women to explore taboo topics like sexuality, abuse, and self-identity, aiming to celebrate vaginas and spark dialogue, evolving into the global anti-violence V-Day movement. Its meaning lies in giving voice to diverse experiences, challenging societal norms, and empowering people to confront gender-based violence through theatrical honesty and activism, though it has sparked debates about inclusivity and representation. Our performance of the play is open and welcoming to all who identify.
-
"My Vagina Was My Village": A powerful piece about cultural identity and the vagina as a sacred space, often performed by a woman of color.
-
My Angry Vagina: An energetic monologue expressing frustration and rage about experiences with vaginas.
